Mosquito traps have tested positive for West Nile virus, with a total of eight traps affected across DeKalb County this year. One of the positive traps was recently confirmed in ZIP code 30316. This area includes East Atlanta and unincorporated DeKalb.

Health officials have not reported any human cases of West Nile virus infection in the county so far this year. Previous positive mosquito surveillance traps were identified on July 22 and August 1.
