A Gwinnett County man died after rescuing a girl caught in a rip current in Myrtle Beach. m. A man entered the water to help the girl and successfully got her to safety.
The man, however, was pulled underwater by the rip current. m. on Saturday.
He has been identified as a 47-year-old from Loganville. Further details about the incident are available from local reports and the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The man's heroic actions saved the girl, but ultimately cost him his life.
