A special election runoff is underway to fill a vacant congressional seat. The position became available after a long-serving representative passed away in April. Two candidates are vying to serve the remainder of the term.

The candidates include a former school board chair and the daughter of the late congressman. The winner will only hold the seat until the end of the current term.
