A rescue operation was undertaken to save a stranded hiker. The climber had become stuck on a small ledge, measuring 20 inches by 20 inches, and was unable to move up or down. Emergency services were alerted at around 7 p.m. when the climber made a 911 call.

A drone was used to locate the climber, who was found to be 260 feet up the mountain. A firefighter then descended the mountain using ropes and hauled the climber to safety with the assistance of a team.

The rescue was carried out by White County Emergency Management and other agencies, who worked together to bring the incident to a successful conclusion.
