A plan is underway to remove invasive plants from a park. Rosa McHugh, President of the Chastain Park Conservancy, refers to these plants as the "Big Green Monster". The invasive plants, including kudzu and ivy, are choking out native trees.

The conservancy is raising $13 million to reclaim 30 acres of the park and plant 600 new trees. Other plans include building a new bridge and creating a large open lawn.

Further details about the project are available, including information about the park's size and the scope of the work to be done.
