A homeowner who suspected a burglar had entered their residence was surprised to find a bobcat perched at the top of the stairwell. The animal had managed to gain entry into the home earlier in the month. Upon hearing banging noises, the resident called 911 to report a possible break-in.

Police responded to the call and found the bobcat on the second-floor landing. An officer encountered the animal, and colleagues used a drone to track its movements while maintaining a safe distance.

Further details about the incident are available from the Kirkland Police Department, which shared information about the event on social media on August 31.
