The Secretary of State’s Office has confirmed that over 200 individuals were improperly registered to vote. These individuals were convicted felons who had not completed their sentences, and therefore were not eligible to vote. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, 226 such felons were found to be registered in Spalding County.
Georgia law allows convicted felons to re-register to vote once they have completed their sentences. The discovery was made during a comprehensive audit of the state's voter rolls.
Further details on the audit and its findings are available from the source.
