Georgia State Troopers and officers made a significant number of arrests over Labor Day weekend. In a 24-hour period, 216 people were arrested for driving under the influence. The Georgia Dept. of Public Safety released these statistics as part of its report on traffic enforcement during the holiday weekend.

The department noted that impaired driving remains a major threat on roads. Despite having options to plan ahead, some individuals still choose to drive while under the influence.

Further details on traffic enforcement and safety are available from the Georgia Dept. of Public Safety.
