A scheme to cheat hunters has been uncovered, with charges announced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The accused, Rodney Edward Smith, allegedly orchestrated this while incarcerated. He is said to have used various means to advertise leases on properties he did not own.

The accused is 39 years old and was serving a sentence at the time. His actions are believed to have taken place between July 2025 and April 2026.
