Flock, a company providing AI-driven license plate-reading cameras, has made updates to its safeguards. The goal is to ensure proper use of the cameras. One change allows communities to reduce the retention period for captured images from 30 days to 7 days.

Existing customers will keep their current retention periods, which were approved democratically. A new "Evidence Mode" is being introduced for cases that require longer retention. This mode will be provided at no cost to customers who adopt the 7-day retention period.

Further details on the updates, including new filters for sharing information, are available from the company's news release.
